Goldleaf Chef Highlight: Jason Eisner

Original Article written for Goldleaf here.

If you’ve sipped on an Instagrammable beverage in LA here’s a high chance it was crafted by longtime Beverage Director of Gracias Madre, Jason Eisner. As a pioneer of the Organic Cocktail movement, Eisner is one more reason to check out the innovative vegan fare coming out of LA.

Jason thinks outside the box and is known for crafting up cocktails that share the same components: vegan, organic, and whenever possible, made-in-house. If you’ve been to Gracias Madre, Cafe Gratitude, or  Block Party in LA; there’s a high chance (no pun intended) it was crafted by Mixologist, Jason Eisner.

Eisner might not be the first bartender to experiment with infusing cannabis into cocktails, but he has definitely taken the beverage industry to the next level by his approach to ingredients and thoughtfulness of flavors. Eisner’s infamous CBD-laced cocktails are just as pleasing to the eye as our taste buds. I can attest that each drink on the cannabis-infused beverage menu at West Holly’s Gracias Madre vegan Mexican cafe is balanced, full of flavor & gorgeously presented.

Each beverage is rooted from a traditional cocktail, but an elevated educational lift. With catchy names like: Rolled Fashioned, Stoned Fruit, Sour T-iesel or my personal favorite, the Stoney Negronis. Jason Eisner has introduced a new way to experience the benefits of cannabinoids in the form of a cocktail. Eisner is on a mission to care for his customers by providing them sustainable, plant-based, and delicious crafted cocktails.

Jason recently contributed a recipe of one of his cocktail creations (Blue Dream Margarita) to our new recipe card set.  If you’re feeling adventurous (and we hope you are), you can make your own at home and impress the hell out of your friends.
